I have been with my boyfriend for almost six months now. I had known him from High School, but I hated him. And other males in general. My past only let me see the worst in men. But he tried, every single day, to make me smile.
I had not seen him for a year after we had graduated. Until I saw him on Facebook. It turns out that he had joined the Navy. I thought it was interesting because I’m with the Air Force. We met up for his two weeks on leave, and we just clicked. Our ‘fling’ was only supposed to last those two weeks, but we kept it going. He said he couldn’t do long distance relationships. Until the day he slipped out the words “I love you” on the phone. Now our love is stronger than ever. I’m still here in the states and he is in Okinawa, Japan. Before he left, he texted me this:
“Puppy, I’m in my rack right thinking of you. And these past four months, or so, have been amazing. I honestly thought I couldn’t feel this way again. I love you so much; I thought I loved Aubry. But this feels different. Its better. Its not hormones, its not desperation, its full blown love. I hope to spend the rest of my life with you. I know I don’t like to talk to talk about the long future or marriage, but that’s because I’m afraid to get hurt again. So, I just wanted to let you know, that after we have been together for a while, it would definitely happen. And that would be the greatest day of my life, knowing I’m bound to you, my love.”
