She wakes up to the beat of her aching heart. It’s 2 am. All she hears is dead silence. deafening dead silence that gives her nostalgia to the bones and chills to her spine. She gathers all strenght to stand up and turns on the light on her desk. She got her journal. turned a few pages, grabbed a pen and stopped on a blank page.
She tries to write what’s on her heart. With the every single detail of the hurt, the confusion and the pain. She writes with blurry eyes the hurt that’s taking over her every piece. She can barely breathe.
“I love him” she wrote on her journal. She had been so inlove with this man, Anthony. She wanted to cry to the pit of her stomach but the shield in her heart wont let her.
Anthony with a friendly vibe. Anthony with that gorgeous smile that takes her breath away. Anthony that tells her to keep going and be strong. Anthony with a character. Anthony that’s easy to love. Anthony, the boy
from her 8th period class.
“Hey, my name’s Jea.” She said when she first saw him.
He smiled and she first saw that gorgeous smile.
The smile that would soon kill her inside.
”Hi, Im Anthony. Im new this year. My parents decided i just go to a public school. Private school is getting a lot more expensive.” He said with the softest tone possible.
“Oh really? How do you like Mazorris high so far” She asked.
“It’s fine.” He said with a smile.
Over the weeks they’ve become really close and she knew she felt something. Something that scared her.
Something she didn’t want to admit. Something. Something from the bottom of her heart.
She woke up from dreaming and got dressed up and went to school. She came and she saw that 5-foot-11 beauty standing by the hallways, waiting for her. They hugged and went on. She had a smirk on her face. He was always there for her when she needed him. She hoped for a chance that maybe, he likes her back.
Her feelings for him grew so much stronger as each day passes. He cared for her.He helped her deal with her image issues. He made sure she was okay. He
comforted her at her weakest moments. He wan’t just Anthony anymore. He became Anthony, Jea’s euphoria.
The next few days Anthony became a little vague. He would just stare at Jea as if he had something to tell her. He stopped talking to her. hE aovoided her in every possible way. Jea was lost and confused.
Jea didn’t want to stop liking him. She didn’t wan to give up on him. She just sat there quiet in her algebra class. It pained her to see anthony sitting next to her and not saying anything at all. He doesn’t say hi anymore. He doesnt wait for her in the hallway, he just doesnt talk to her anymore. And if there was, it was little. She was confused.
A few weeks.
By this time, Jea has lost all hope and gave up on Anthony. She told herself as she sat my the room with a view.
“Friends. Just friends.”
It was a monday. She got into her algebra class and there was Anthony smiling back at her. She smiled back. She doesn’t know why he is smiling at her but she didn’t care. And boom. There goes the feeling she thought she had forgotten.
Next day
“Jea!” Yelled Alejandro. Alejandro had been friends with Jea for so long. “I have something to tell you. It’s not really that good. It’s about Anthony.” She took a deep breath.
“He likes Emily and they’re going out.” Emily is her bestfriend.
A sinking feeling. A drop in the stomach. And a faster beating of the heart.
Why did he have to tell me this? Why do i have to know this. Why?
Questions that needed answers boggled up her head.
She thought about it all day. Then 8th period came.
She saw anthony smiled at her. She faked a smile. She hurriedly went for him
and told him about Jacob. She sounded like she really did like him.
She sounded so convincing- that she really does like her. Anthony was pretty happy for her. That she finally found someone for her. She kept on saying Jacob’s name the whole period.
The bell rang, Class dismissed.
Bye Anthony.
Bye Forever.
============================================================
ANTHONY’S POINT OF VIEW.
I walked in 8th period today. I have yet to make friends this year. While i was looking for some of my stuff, this girl said hi. Her name’s Jea. I smiled.
She seems nice. She’s pretty. And she’s funny. She asked me what i think about Mazorris High. All these are new to me. No uniforms, more people. Public School.
I have been going to a private school all my life. This is cool. It seems cool.
A few weeks.
Well, there’s this girl. I really like her, but we’re friends. If i tell her i like her,
Things might just get pretty awkward and end up losing her as a friend.
I stopped talking to her. Her beautiful face and her caring voice just hurts me to the core. She couldn’t like someone like me. Im not smart. Im not funny. I can’t make her laugh. And i can’t give her anything while, she, she’s nice and she tries to give everything in herself to help other people no matter what.
Im not good enough for her. She’s too amazing. She helps me with everything. She’s perfect. Who would like a good for nothing guy. Im not smart and im not even funny. IM GOOD FOR NOTHING.
I have Art meeting today. Im waiting for Ms. Riley. The whole group is. I was talking to Alejandro. I don’t know why or how the conversation
led to Emily. Alejandro asked me smething about Emily. Joseph yelled out my name and told me i had to go.
“Huh? Yea.” I told Aljenadro as i got my stuff and walked out the door. I wasn’t really sure what he was asking me. It’s probably not that important anyway.
Jea came in 8th period today. She smiled at me and then came to me and told me about Jacob. Jacob Riley. The guy from the soccer team. Im friends with him. She kept on telling me how awesome he was, how hot he was, how good-looking he was, how perfect he was. God knows i can’t be like him. Not ever. Maybe they’re right for each other.
“I like him.” She said. She sounded really happy. Well im happy for her. I should be happy for her right? I mean, we’re friends. But its… i…i can’t take it anymore. I love her. But im no Jacob. I don’t play for the soccer team. I don’t make her laugh. I don’t take her breath away. Im not awesome, Im not hot, Im not good looking. All i have is an old guitar and these songs about her. Im just plain old Anthony Morris.
Typical guy with a guitar on his back, sucks at math. Going nowhere in life.
Wow. This hurts.
The bell rang. I’ll be asking Emily out today.
I told Jea bye.
Bye forever.
