Around the age of 16, 17, or 18, maybe even a little younger, people start asking us, Where do you want to go to college? What do you want to do? They are curious about our plans for the future, and sometimes genuinely interested in providing guidance. But at the same age, when we say we love someone, we’re often told, No you don’t. You’re too young. You don’t know what you want. We’ve been dealing with people longer than we have been in school or have been researching professions. I think it’s more than possible that we’d know what we want in a person as much or more so than what we want to do professionally at this point in time.
