I live in Washington, and he lives in California. Before my trip to visit him a couple of weeks ago, all I’d had was a phone call every night and a grand total of 5 hours and 23 minutes over the year and a half of our relationship. And even though it’s not ideal I always thought it was better than not being able to have seen, or heard from, him at all.
We’ve lasted through everything, this distance being the most difficult obstacle to overcome… but I wouldn’t have wanted to share that struggle with anyone else; neither will I want to in the future.
Being 600 miles away from someone you care about isn’t easy to do.. but the small moments, like the 4 days I recently had with him and his lovely family, make everything worth while. Those are the moments that stick with us always, and I know that I will be no exception to that.
Now… I just can’t wait until he comes to visit this summer, so I can have my turn to introduce him to my family :)
