So next year I’m going to college, which you all now. I’ve been getting cold feet about going as far as Nebraska and Michigan, so I was thinking about going to Gannon in PA if I’m accepted since it’s a lot closer. However, I don’t like their restrictions on living on campus and I also don’t like their dorms and how tiny they are. So, I figured I could get an apartment off campus and then have a roommate to help me pay for it. I looked on craigslist and there are plenty going for under $500 a month, so it isn’t impossible.
However, the “roommate” that I want to do this with is my boyfriend. He graduated from high school already so he wants to do it too, and I would thoroughly love it if I could live with him while I was in college. Only problem is, I don’t know if my parents will like the idea of me living with him when I’m that young. I don’t want to wait a couple years though. I want to start living with him my first year.
Before I ask my question, please don’t just say “you’ll be eighteen so it won’t matter what they say.” I want them to accept it. Is there any way that I can get my parents to accept the idea of my living with my boyfriend throughout my college years?
