Once upon a time back in 2007, there was a freshman named Tori. She walked into the first mini-camp with her blue flute, because she didn’t have any other instrument, and didn’t know what she wanted to play. So, the flutes adopted her, and the min-camps went on. There was this group of people that she saw, they just stood there and played their instruments. They didn’t move or anything. Tori was pretty excited when she was them, but knew it was too late to switch instruments. At the end of the first mini camp, she saw thing guy pushing on of the instruments back into the band room. She learned that the boys name was RJ, and he was a junior. She said hey to him, and that was that.
The season went on, and she continued to like him- thinking he was out of her league and she had no chance with him. Well, of course, they were talking one day, and he hold her that he liked her best friend- Jen. Heart broken, she told Jen the news, and Jen responded with “Well, don’t worry. You can have him. I don’t like him.” So, there was a little tiny hope.
Time went on, and there was one point where he started meeting her outside of her7th period English class. One day he told her that he didn’t like Jen, he liked someone else. She couldn’t believe it.
Well, that fateful day happened. Their first competition. They rode on three buses- a guard bus, and band bus, and a drumline bus- 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Well, they passed a Wawa and (Tori wasn’t looking up at the time) rear ended a mini-van. So bus 2 had to split up between buses. Tori just “happened” to “end up” on bus 3, the drumline bus. She also just happened to sit with RJ.
It was pretty awkward on the way up. They talked about when happened with the crash and stuff, and he asked her clichéd questions about myself, and she shyly answered them. When they got to the competition, he asked her if she was nervous. She hadn’t thought about it until then, and she guessed she was. And he told her “We can win or lose. If we win, great. If we lose, it’s all your fault.” Then gave her one of those RJ hugs that she loves so much.
Well, they performed, and they won.
They got back on the bus, and he told her. “Don’t get used to this.” Then he stole her iPillow, so she used him as a replacement pillow. They didn’t really talk on the ride back, I mean. There was a little conversation. But nothing too exciting. They were about 20 minutes away from school, and he had been rubbing/massaging her arm for a while, and with each rub, he moved a little farther down. About 20 minutes away from school, he took her hand in his. She never felt so many butterflies in her stomach at one time.
When they finally pulled up to the school and the lights were turned on, he looked at her and said “Would you rather be on bus one with Jen, or here?” She simplysaid “here” and cuddled up to him. She was pretty sure everyone around them was watching.
Well, a few days later, on October 15th, she sent him a message, because her friend said he was talking to RJ at a party and they were talking about her.
“What did you and Troy talk about at the party? Because I was informed I was brought up in a conversation.Just wondering. If you don’t want to tell me, you don’t have to.
Uh….. I didn’t go to any party with Troy. And if I did and I was talking about you, it’d be good stuff. =)”
Then they started talking about why we liked each other, and how her other friend Brodie asked her earlier how long they had been dating. A few messages later (this was all on Myspace. Haha) and…
“Well, I want to. So, its all up to you. If you say yes, then its official. =)
Well, so do I.
So…
Yes.”
So, thanks to that fateful band bus ride, Tori and RJ were officially dating as of October 17th, 2007 at 2:24pm.
Three and a half years later, we are still a happy couple. We talk about the future, our future, all of the time. Whatever my future holds, I hope it is him. ♥
