We met when we were fourteen. It was love at first sight, as cheesy as that sounds. We are now seventeen and in love more than ever. Our story is a lot like everyone else’s: we’re in love, we’re young, and all of that kind of stuff. We’ve been in a relationship for the past two years and one month. But here’s something that’s different: for a year and seven months of those two years and one month, we’ve been in a long distance relationship. I live in New Jersey and he lives inGeorgia. We’re 864 miles away. We usually don’t see each other for three or four months at a time and we haven’t seen each other since July 27th, 2010. But we’re going to see each other in April :) I’m so excited. We talk on the phone almost every single night and we are constantly texting each other. I get told just about everyday that our relationship isn’t going to work out because one of us is going to cheat or that we’ll get tired of each other. It was really tough hearing that at first, because I believed that it was true. Now, both of us know better and trust each other completely. Being in a long distance relationship was extremely difficult, but my love for Andrew grows stronger everyday.
Being in a long distance relationship really takes a toll on us, but we know that it will all be worth it soon. We are both going to college in New York City and he’s moving up here in September. Our relationship isn’t better than anyone’s but we definitely have proved so many people wrong. Our relationship has lasted longer than most people’s relationships and I’m so happy I’m getting married to my best friend. We get through all of the dumb arguments and days when we’ve been upset that we haven’t seen each other. He’s my soulmate, my everything, my world. We are getting married after college and both of our families know. I told him in a letter recently that I won’t get to truly show him how much I love him, but I will spend forever trying. I promise. I love Andrew James Litten with all of my heart and so much more.
