Being in a relationship isn’t all about laughter and having fun together. It isn’t all about the smiles that curve your mouth the moment your eyes meet or that giddy feeling that you get whenever you talk about him. It isn’t all about the YM conversations or the silly photos you take of each other. It isn’t all about the goosebumps running through your veins whenever he kisses your forehead or the shivers down your spine when he holds your hand.
Sometimes, being in a relationship also means facing the world together, through ups and downs and being able to forgive until you forget counting. It means accepting the other person despite his imperfections, his flaws and his quirks. It means respecting her choices, her beliefs and her ideas. It means being there even if not physically, but emotionally, for those battles she was facing, even if he was scared of them himself. It means cheering him on to boost his downtrodden ego on days when she also needed encouragement. It means giving and taking, without any doubts, only with faith and love.
Being in a relationship may not always be composed of moments of bliss or random memories of pure ecstacy. But the best part of it all? It’s remembering those moments when you’re on the verge of giving up but you won’t, you can’t, because being beside each other is where it will always feel like home.
