Everybody meet Alexis.
She is 7 months old and needs a liver transplant.
She is currently staying in an Intensive Care Unit (I.C.U) in Brisbane. In her short life she has almost died and has not left the hospital since she was born.
Last week, she was taken off the transplant list in Australia because she had too many infections and was deemed unable to operate on.
Alexis is now better and has been put at the top of the liver transplant list in the whole of Australia.
Despite being at the top of the list, she is still at risk of losing her life due to her failed liver and her parents live in constant fear that in just a few moments they could lose their young daughter.
Due to no donors, Alexis’s half brother is being considered to donate some of his liver to her so she can have a chance at life, but he has yet to undergo the medical tests to be declared fit for the transplant.
Today I went and saw her in the hospital. She has beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes that you would expect on a young girl rather than a small baby.
She is truly gorgeous, I hope she survives this rough time in her life.
She is loved <3
